Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I care to floss in the first place?
Why should I care to floss in the first place?
A: Because it's about a lot more than fresh breath. Brushing alone only cleans about 70% of your mouth. The other 30%, between your teeth, is where plaque and bacteria quietly build up, where your toothbrush just can't reach. This plaque accumulation increases your risk of decay and is where most individuals end up getting cavities and hence unwanted dental bills as a result.
And it's not just about your mouth. Studies have linked gum disease to a 70% higher risk of dementia, while daily flossing has been associated with up to a 44% lower risk of stroke!
Flossing isn't just a dental chore. It's one of the simplest things you can do for your long-term health, and your wallet.
How does it compare to water flossing?
How does it compare to water flossing?
A: Water flossing has been gaining popularity in recent years due to its ease of use, speed, and ability to reach areas that traditional floss may struggle with. However, its main drawback is that it doesn’t physically get between the teeth, often leaving more plaque behind compared to string floss or floss picks. Think of it like rinsing dishes under the tap instead of scrubbing them with a brush.
The Orthoclean Sonic Flosser bridges the gap between these methods, combining the best of both worlds to deliver a faster, easier, and more effective flossing solution for improved oral health.

What is the floss made of and how long does it last?
What is the floss made of and how long does it last?
A: Made from strong, woven polypropylene, our floss delivers reliable performance to create a floss that’s both durable and free from unnecessary extras. No wax, no coatings, and absolutely no PFAs, PTFEs, or Teflon, just a safe, toxin-free way to care for your smile.
We've engineered our floss thread to be exceptionally durable, lasting 1-2 weeks with regular use. These are best replaced after this period for hygiene reasons. Be sure to rinse it under the tap to wash away dislodged plaque.
Individuals with tight teeth or dental restorations may face increased wear and tear of the floss thread due to increased friction/force, and may require more frequent replacements if needed (for example, every 3-5 days).

A: The Sonic Flosser is designed to be compatible with sound, uncompromised restorations including fillings, crowns, veneers, implant restorations and more. Please note that, as with regular floss, the Sonic Flosser will not fit between bridged teeth (as they are joined together), and compromised dental work may be affected with use. It is recommended to consult your oral healthcare professional prior to use if you are dentally unfit or suspect if you have more severe periodontal disease.
